If more detail is needed, please ask and I'll snap a photo of whatever you wish. I took the following images a few hours ago. The chrome is in very good condition and I'm not sure if it's a candidate for restoration or for conservation. My two most pressing questions are as follow:Ĭan anyone tell me the approximate age of the frame? The seat post has a GT sticker on it, which leads me to believe that is also not original. The brakes seem correct and have no tool marks on the fasteners to indicate they've ever been monkeyed with. I don't believe the wheels to be correct to the bike, however it makes sense that they were installed when the bike was reasonably new. The handle bars are not branded and the Skyway Tuff Mag II wheels have a molded patent number that was issued in June of 1981. It has the earlier, non-tapered forks, Sugino crank with what appear to be incorrect arms and absolutely incorrect pedals, as if someone cannibalized the parts at some point in the bike's life. The bike is labeled a PL20, however from what I can ascertain, it's a 1981 due to the lack of a bridge aft of the bottom bracket, but I can't find anything from 1981 with this decal set. Nevertheless, I rescued a Redline from a pawn shop today and I'm having a difficult time identifying the frame with any specificity. Please pardon me for any errors or omissions: I assure you I won't get it wrong a second time. Before I continue and surely show my ignorance, please understand that I only started getting interested in BMX bikes a three weeks ago and this is my third purchase in as many weeks.
